Au revoir France

Well, the day has finally arrived, where Patrick and I will fly back to the US. If you have been following this blog over the past several months, you will understand if we cannot summarize our experiences in just one final post.

As some of you know by now, I don't do well when Patrick is out of town (in one particularly memorable stint, I did an online catalogue of all our books and DVD's at 3 in the morning). This time around I just reviewed 18 months of photos and placed them in some sort of logically order for posterity.

Au revoir France: People

I am horrible with remembering people's names, and I am even worse when trying to remember people that I have not seen for a long time. Can't tell you how many times I lived/worked somewhere, and now I can't remember anyone.

Consider this video a "cliff notes" version of all the people we met. And note . . . if you're not in this movie, the ONLY reason is that I didn't have a picture of you. Send me one, and it'll take 5 minutes to do version 2.

Au revoir France: Places

Before leaving for France we had grandiose plans of travelling throughout Europe, and we did just that. Although many places we did not make it to - Berlin, Sweden, Greece, or Spain just to name a few, there were a whole lot of other places that we did visit.

Au revoir France: Things

Unfortunately, I enjoyed this song too much to change it, and it limited me to only 76 things to remember. Surprisingly difficult. So if you think there is something we're missing, it was not intentional - just was lost on the cutting room floor.

B100 Area is coming down

Well, at least one shack is . . .

For those who have been following, the GBIP project was in a bunch of temporary trailers. Temporary as in they were only supposed to be used until 1990 - or something ridiculous like that. But it always seems that there's a new project that doesn't have any office space, so they keep delaying the teardown.

Well, they finally started tearing down at least one building - home of many a team leader meeting. And yes, all the other buildings are still here.

Alas, I have found the original nativity scene

Walking through Lucerne in Switzerland with Kelly and Patrick, we found the family's original nativity scene (with ejectable Jesus). Still no word on how expensive hand-carved Nativity scenes are, but I'm still working on it.
