I was Heim'ed

How is this for scary.

I land in Chicago on my way back from Ireland (yes, I'm going back in a month) - and I see none other than Mike Heim, Chief Information Officer of Eli Lilly.

It was like 24 hours of seeing Lilly executives staring back at me. It all started when I left Kinsale, and there was an advertisement of Dave Urbanek, Lilly Kinsale's Plant Manager.

APICS Certification

The powers that be at work decided that in order to know anything about Supply Chain, you had to be APICS certified. Not sure if it was because people didn't know the difference between a forecast or a demand or what, but basically everyone has taken the courses and exams around here.

Although I had taken two of the five exams before I left for France, I had three remaining. Fortunately, they weren't too horrible, although they each took about 3 weeks of studying. If nothing else it saves time convincing people that you know anything about how a Supply Chain works - now I can just say I'm APICS certified - woo hoo.

B100 Area is coming down

Well, at least one shack is . . .

For those who have been following, the GBIP project was in a bunch of temporary trailers. Temporary as in they were only supposed to be used until 1990 - or something ridiculous like that. But it always seems that there's a new project that doesn't have any office space, so they keep delaying the teardown.

Well, they finally started tearing down at least one building - home of many a team leader meeting. And yes, all the other buildings are still here.
