One of the main sites in Istanbul is the Blue Mosque, even though it's no longer really blue - I think the official name is the Sultan Ahmed Mosque. Regardless...It's right in the middle of the old part of Istanbul, and they call it the Blue Mosque because of its interior was mostly blue. But the original design did not have this blue color, and it appears that they are restoring it to its natural colors - so calling it the Blue Mosque doesn't make too much sense. At the end of the day though, the place is absolutely amazing, one of the largest mosques in Islam, and represents some of its best architecture.
