I had to look up the story once I got back to a computer, but here's the Spire of Dublin. Basically a 130 meter tall of stainless steel.It basically was placed next to the Nelson's Pillar, which was destroyed by the IRA back before I was born (yes, I know, a long 27 years ago).
I was surprised to read that it's actually 15 cm in diameter at the topi, where it looks like it could pop a balloon, if it just looked at the spire funny.
