One Sunday, Patrick, Mindy, and I went hiking through the woods - hiking trails are really big in Alsace. We took a short little trail and headed for Castle Andlau - basically they're out in the middle of nowhere - hence the need to go hiking to get there. You can click here for a history of Castle Andlau.Unfortunately we really couldn't go in, because the ruins are in disrepair and unsafe, but it was pretty cool to just walk in the woods and then come upon this huge castle in the middle of the forest.
